Emergency Planning College
Business objectives
Emergency Planning College is renown for its expertise in providing contingency planning and emergency training to many public and private organisations worldwide. It is increasingly seen as a key player in supporting the UK to protect itself from a range of emergencies. To ensure that it continues to do so the Training Director decided to focus the training using accelerated learning and also to introduce a more measurable evaluation strategy.
Process
The Course Directors participated in a two day accelerated learning programme which included redesigning courses to ensure that delegates attending them would learn the essentials and make a shift when they returned to work. This was supported with a two-day session 2 months later to assess the quality of the designs and discuss the success of the new training approach. This was followed by a day agreeing an appropriate evaluation strategy for the college.
Each Course Director was provided with coaching over a 3-month period to support the changes.
What the client said:
We found that as the development programme unfolded we became excited to see how our ideas were turned into reality. The results that we are now getting and are able to demonstrate will make our roles easier and The College recognised for the real impact we are having on improving the resilience of the UK. The consultancy and training helped us in our shift in approach and showed us ways of doing what we wanted to do in a practical and supportive manner.
